Social enterprises are businesses or organizations (for profit, non-profit, co-ops, credit unions) that sell goods or services in the marketplace. Their primary purpose is to create social, environmental and/or cultural value. They use a minimum of 51% of any profits to enhance programs and services to improve our communities.

OPT3’s Priority Action # 3 is to make investments through a new social finance fund to increase the capacity and sustainability of social enterprises within non-profit organizations in New Brunswick.

ESIC has partnered with the Pond-Deschpande Centre and the CBDC Chaleur to provide support, training and funding to qualifying organizations in New Brunswick.
