Trespass Act – Agricultural Lands on Crown Land

Keeping New Brunswick’s agricultural lands protected is important to our province to support our farmers and the food they grow for New Brunswickers and others around the globe.

Agricultural landowners have long been concerned about the contamination and damage, caused by trespass on their properties.

Recently, the Department of Agriculture, Aquaculture and Fisheries introduced changes to the Trespass Act, requiring written permission from a property owner or Crown land lessees to access agricultural lands.

A map has been created to aide those planning to venture into woods. It identifies Crown lands leased for agricultural purposes. A phone number and contact information to make enquiries on Crown lands leased for agricultural purposes is provided.
