In 2019-20, only the Grade 9 reading (ELPA) and Grade 12 French oral proficiency (OPI) assessments were conducted due to the COVID pandemic.
In 2020-21, French and English reading assessments and French oral proficiency assessments were administered; however, mathematics and scientific literacy assessments did not take place due to the COVID pandemic.
In 2021-22, the administration methodology was aligned for all assessments, from matrix sample to census administration. With this methodology, students complete the full assessment rather than one of four partial versions. This results in student-level data for teachers and allows for cohort tracking and longitudinal research. Combined with other data sources, it tells a more complete story about student performance.
