Government of New Brunswick

Learn about the provincial human rights legislation, the protected grounds and areas of discrimination, the duty to accommodate, the compliance process and more! Check out the Commission’s Exploring Human Rights in New Brunswick: A Newcomers Guide available in English, French, Arabic, Tagalog, Mandarin, Swahili, Ukrainian, and Spanish.

A new educational resource for newcomers navigating the human rights process, the guide aims to support newcomers to the province to understand their rights, responsibilities, and avenues for addressing discrimination in New Brunswick.

We understand the importance of accurate translations, and while the Commission has taken every effort to ensure the translations are as accurate as possible, we encourage you to reach out if you notice any inconsistencies or issues. Your feedback is important to our commitment to providing accessible and accurate educational resources.

This project stems from consultations held in March 2023 with the New Brunswick Multicultural Council and its members. Their valuable insights into the human rights challenges faced by newcomers across the province guided the development of this resource. The Commission would also like to thank the Saint John Newcomers Centre and their staff for reviewing the translations of these documents.
