Commercial Trip Permit
Justice & Public Safety
Trip Permits are required to ensure that a commercial vehicle owned and operated by or on behalf of a non-resident and duly registered in the home province or state of the non-resident be exempted from registration.
The Registrar of Motor Vehicles may, upon application for a temporary exemption from registration under the Motor Vehicle Act and upon payment of the fee issue a trip permit.
A Trip Permit authorizes the holder of that commercial vehicle to be operated on the highways of the province for a period of five consecutive days during the time specified on the permit.
Unless otherwise specified, Fees exclude the harmonized sales tax (HST).
