Who is eligible for the Books by Mail service?

How do I sign up for Books by Mail?

If you already have a library card, then you are ready to receive books by mail service! If you do not have a library card, please contact your public library or register for a card online.

How do users receive documents by mail?

Materials are mailed to patrons via Canada Post in a sealed, black, postage-paid library mailing bag. If Canada Post does not deliver to your door, you may have to pick the materials up at the post office. If you have any questions regarding this, please contact your library.

How do I return items?

When you are ready to return the items, place them back in the special mailing bag, insert the postage-paid return mailing label inside the clear window and return the bag to a post office or place it in a Canada Post mailbox. Items can also be returned to any public library in New Brunswick.

What materials are available by mail?

Books, audiobooks, magazines, DVDs and CDs. Any library materials that will fit into our mailing bags.

How long may I keep these books?

Three weeks. Two renewals are possible if no one is waiting for the material. Renew online, or by contacting the public library nearest you.

How do I order material by mail once I’m registered?

If you place holds yourself through our catalogue, simply select ‘Mail to Me’ as the pick-up location for holds you want delivered to the address on your account. You can also contact any public library in New-Brunswick and our staff will be happy to help.
