The federal government manages the two national parks in the province (Kouchibouguac and Fundy). For information on the national parks, please contact: http://www.pc.gc.ca/eng/index.aspx or 1-888-773-8888.

Municipalities are responsible for parks and greenway within their boundaries (i.e. Rockwood Park in Saint John and Odell Park in Fredericton). Please contact the appropriate municipality for information.

The Department of Tourism, Heritage and Culture (THC) manages provincial parks and the Department of Natural Resources and Energy Development (DNRED) is responsible for small parks on Crown land.

THC manages Anchorage, Castalia, Herring Cove, Fundy Trail Parkway, Les Jardins de la République, Lepreau Falls, Mactaquac, Murray Beach, New River Beach, Oak Bay, Parlee Beach, The Rocks, St. Croix, Sugarloaf, Val Comeau, and Mount Carleton. Parks owned by DNRED are leased to private operators, municipalities and non-for-profit organizations for a period of time which may vary from 1 to 25 years. Parks can become available for leasing at any time. When a park becomes available for leasing, DNRED may issue a Request for Proposals (RFP). Interested applicants can submit a proposal when a RPF is issued.

DNRED is responsible for 20 parks, which are operated/managed by third parties, including municipalities and non-for-profit organizations.

The parks owned by the Department of Natural Resources and Energy Development (DNRED) that are operated by third parties are: Beechwood, Escuminac, Lake George, Lakeside, Little Lake, Middle Island, Muniac, Neguac- Hay Island, Oak Point, Parc de l’Aboiteau, Pokeshaw, Sandy Point, Sunbury Oromocto, Northlake, The Enclosure, Woolastook, and Youghall Beach.
