Pet Retail Stores and Animal Shelters
Minimum standards of animal care have been established covering such areas as feeding and watering; handling; veterinary care; ventilation; and sanitation, to name a few. Complete details of the standards can be found within Schedule A of the Pet Establishment Regulation under the New Brunswick Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.
Kennels
Kennels that house dogs must be maintained and operated in accordance with "A Code of Practice For Canadian Kennel Operations", published by the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association 2nd edition, May 2007.
