Plumbing Licences
Justice & Public Safety
Overview
Plumbing licences are required to ensure that qualified individuals perform plumbing work.
All plumbing system construction work must be done by a provincially licenced plumber who is employed by a licenced plumbing contractor. Homeowners may perform plumbing work on their principal residence, provided that they meet the terms and conditions set out by the Chief Plumbing Inspector.

To qualify for a Plumber's Licence, applicants must hold a New Brunswick Certificate of Qualification in the plumbing trade.
A Plumbing Contractor Licence authorizes the holder to contract to install, alter, extend, renew or repair plumbing systems, or make a building sewer connection or disconnection.
