This part of the SEED Program utilizes wage reimbursements to help provincial departments or agencies, hospital corporations, community colleges or universities employ students in post-secondary co-operative education programs.


An employer must be a:
-provincial government department or agency, hospital corporation, community college or university

The student must be:
-from New Brunswick and currently enrolled in a recognized college or university co-operative education program. A comprehensive list of these institutions can be found at (see under related links).
-referred to the employer by a recognized college or university co-operative education program


The employer application form must:
-be submitted by:
July 19, 2019 for the fall term
November 15, 2019 for the winter term
March 20, 2020 for the spring/summer term
-indicate the name of the co-operative program or the form will be returned

The work term must:
-be a minimum of 35 hours per week to a maximum of 40 hours per week
-be the length of the participant's co-operative program practicum to the maximum of 16 weeks per term
-begin within the term of January, April or September

The wage reimbursement available to an employer is:
-minimum wage plus the employer’s share of benefits (CPP, EI and vacation pay). The employer is responsible for the costs associated with Workplace, Health, Safety and Compensation premiums.
