Environment and Local Government
In local service districts, the impound fee for seized dogs has increased from $5 to $15 per day.
Dog owners in local service districts
In local service districts, seized dogs are allowed to be impounded for three days (72 hours), a change from the previous standard of two days (48 hours). The daily impound fees for dogs has increased from $5 to $15 per day. The Dog Control Officer shall collect from the owner before releasing the dog the sum of $15 for each day during which the dog has been impounded. After 72 hours, the dog becomes the legal property of the NB SPCA.
