Coordination and consultation services are provided in support of efforts to reduce violence against Aboriginal women in New Brunswick.
Eligibility
Individual and community stakeholders who can help identify issues and develop solutions to improve the situation of Aboriginal women around the province are welcome to join the effort or to consult or request information.
Description
Addressing the factors contributing to the violence experienced by Aboriginal women, living both on and off First Nations communities in New Brunswick, requires a coordinated and comprehensive approach with leadership and involvement of many different stakeholders. The Branch, especially through its Coordinator on Aboriginal Women’s Issues, along with the Advisory Committee to the Minister on Aboriginal Women provide this service, guided by the Strategic Framework to End Violence against Wabanaki Women in New Brunswick. Individual and community stakeholders who can help identify issues and develop solutions to improve the situation of Aboriginal women around the province are welcome to join the effort or to consult or request information.
