Premier visits school to see work of numeracy leads07 April 2017
FREDERICTON (GNB) – Premier Brian Gallant visited Forest Hill Elementary School today to see first-hand how numeracy leads are working to improve educational outcomes.
“Numeracy is a major focus area of our 10-year education plan,” said Gallant. “Your government is working to improve numeracy outcomes, particularly with respect to students from kindergarten to Grade 2, and these numeracy leads are helping us get things done.”
Twenty-eight numeracy leads began working with teachers and students from kindergarten to Grade 2 in the anglophone school system this school year.
This represents a $2.5-million investment.
The government’s 10-year education plans aim to improve educational outcomes and better prepare young people for the future. They set objectives in priority areas to create lifelong learners, support educational leaders and bring stability to the system.
