Elsipogtog Dancers

This trio is a family of dancers that bring the practice of three roles of traditional dance of Elsipogtog: man, woman, and child scout. Victor, Bette-Jo, and Bradley Levi are of Elsipogtog, on the banks of the River of Fire for which it is named. Over time, mispronunciation led to the common name Richibucto. Victor’s dance is for the traditional battle and hunting trip; Bette-Jo, the dance and prayer to keep the men safe until their return; and little Bradley is a scout: the first to check the land and bless the ground.
