Government of New Brunswick

Organizations can apply for funding to support infrastructure projects that build prosperous communities and transition to a clean economy.

Overview

The federal and provincial governments are working together to make long-term infrastructure investments that will create economic growth, sustain well-paying jobs, build inclusive communities and support a low carbon, green economy – leading to a higher quality of life for all Canadians.

Under the federal government’s Integrated Bilateral Agreement for the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program, New Brunswick will receive up to $673,217,568 over 10 years which will be distributed under these four funding streams:

  • Green Infrastructure
  • Rural and Northern Communities Infrastructure
  • Community, Culture and Recreation Infrastructure
  • Public Transit Infrastructure

The Integrated Bilateral Agreement is the next phase of the Investing in Canada Plan, and will support new infrastructure projects, and the renewal/rehabilitation and modernization of existing infrastructure. These projects will be cost-shared between the federal government, New Brunswick government, municipalities and other partners.

Communities across the province will benefit from cleaner air and water, reduced greenhouse gas emissions, smarter and more efficient cities, faster commute and travel times and easier movement of goods for businesses.

The IBA will be managed and delivered by the Regional Development Corporation with support from partnering departments.

To be considered for funding under the IBA, applicants must complete, sign and forward the Expression of Interest form including supporting documents such as business cases, detailed costing, engineering diagrams, etc. to the Regional Development Corporation.

Applications will be assessed against program criteria.

Project must not commence before the applicant receives written notification of approval by the Regional Development Corporation.

Applicant must complete, sign and forward a claim form including copies of all pertinent documentation relating to the project for reimbursement of expenditures. Cash payments will not be eligible for reimbursement.

The period to submit your Expression of Interest is now closed.
