As the labour market becomes more competitive, employers are hiring people with credentials that attest to their skills. By completing your apprenticeship program and obtaining a Certificate of Qualification, you will become a journeyperson and be recognized as a professional in your occupation.
In many occupations, when you obtain a Certificate of Qualification, you also get Red Seal endorsement or interprovincial status. Certified workers who are Red Seal endorsed can work anywhere in Canada where their occupation is designated. New Brunswick currently recognizes 50 occupations that are part of the Interprovincial Standards Red Seal Program.
