Future GNB is a government-wide initiative supporting the creation of formal pathways for post-secondary students in accessing valuable, experiential, and work-integrated learning opportunities in the public service.
To achieve this, we will focus on:
Throughout the program, students will have the opportunity to create connections with other public servants and Future GNB students, as well as participate in round-table discussions, seminars, and workshops. Most importantly, students will see the value in being public servants and helping to improve the lives of New Brunswickers and our province.
Since its inception in 2021, Future GNB has provided more than 100 opportunities for students, engaged more than 500 students, and in collaboration with NB-IRDT, developed two experiential learning programs. In addition, Future GNB partnered with Mentor Canada to develop a mentor module specific to GNB to ensure that our mentors provide our students with an enriching learning experience. As a result, community connections have improved, recruitment and retention of New Brunswick youth have increased, and meaningful growth has occurred here at home. The following are a few success stories from past Future GNB interns.
