FREDERICTON (GNB) – Premier-designate Brian Gallant, along with MLAs recommended for appointment to the executive council, will be officially sworn-in during a ceremony on Oct. 7.

Gallant, who will become the 33rd Premier of New Brunswick, was formally invited to form government during a meeting with Lt.-Gov. Graydon Nicholas.

“This will be an exciting moment for our team,” Gallant said. “The ceremony will mark the official start of our mandate and the process of moving our province forward.”

The Lt.-Gov. will preside over the ceremony.

As per tradition, the premier-designate will also recommend members for appointment to the executive council and the assignment of ministerial responsibilities. Nicholas will sign the orders of assignment for each member.
