Guide II Licence (Licence to Accompany)
Natural Resources and Energy Development
Overview
As a general rule, the NB Fish and Wildlife Act requires that non-residents must be accompanied by a licensed guide to hunt game species or to fish for Atlantic Salmon. The Guide II Licence (Licence to Accompany) is designed for those who wish to provide a no-fee or no-reward guiding service to a visiting non-resident friend or relative.
Eligibility
Must be 18 years of age or older and a resident of New Brunswick as defined by the NB Fish and Wildlife Act. First-time applicants must successfully complete the guide exam at a Department office.
Description
The holder of a Licence to Accompany may hunt or fish while guiding but can only guide one client at a time. Please refer to the NB "Fish" and "Hunt/Trap" regulation summaries (see Related Links) for more details concerning rules that apply to guides. Guide Licences expire on December 31 each year.
