Québec and New Brunswick concluded an agreement in October 2008 concerning labour mobility and recognition of qualifications, skills and work experience in the construction industry. This agreement aims to facilitate access to the construction sector labour market in both provinces.

What you need to know if you are a contractor coming to work in the construction sector in
New Brunswick


General Information - Contractor

1) There are 12 compulsory occupations
2) The Apprenticeship ratio is one apprentice to one journeyperson on the job site
3) You must obtain a New Brunswick Business Number
4) You must contact WorkSafeNB
5) You must contact the Department of Public Safety for information on permits and licences
6) You must complete the Contractor's Request Form for all employees coming to work in NB, attach all supporting documentation and forward to NB Apprenticeship and Certification.
7) Your employees should be encouraged to sign the Consent to Disclose Information Form
