Anonymous HIV Testing Services
Public Health provides free anonymous HIV testing services. When testing is done anonymously, the nurse drawing blood does not know the identity of the client. A code is used instead of the client’s name in their file and on the laboratory form.
Anonymous HIV testing services are available to all New Brunswick residents and inmates in federal and provincial correctional institutions
Counseling is provided by a public health nurse before drawing the blood sample and upon provision of the test results. The client must revisit the test site and request his test result using the ID code provided at the time the blood sample was drawn.
