My teenager is out of control. Can your department help me before he/she gets into more trouble?

Yes, if your teenager is under age 16 you can contact your local office of the Department of Social Development and ask to speak with a social worker. They will talk with you to determine if there are services the department can offer. They may also be aware of what other community services are available to assist you.

Where can I inquire about starting a foster home

You can contact your local office of the Department of Social Development. There are many ways to help children and families but none more direct than opening your heart and your home to a child who has experienced difficulties.
