    A foundation can be established to receive gifts on behalf of the institution, to invest and administer the property received, to encourage, facilitate and carry out programs and activities that will directly or indirectly increase the financial support of or confer a benefit on the institution, and to make grants and gifts to the institution in support of its programs and activities.

    Eligibility

    The Act provides for the establishment of foundations for New Brunswick's four public universities: Université de Moncton, University of New Brunswick, Mount Allison University and St. Thomas University as well as the New Brunswick Community College and the following educational institutions: Maritime Forest Ranger School, the School of Fisheries of New Brunswick and the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design.
