Future GNB intern attends diplomatic meeting

Future GNB was contacted by St Thomas University regarding an exciting opportunity. STU was looking for five departments to mentor seven students between January and April 2022 for a course in Political Science (POLS 3353). To receive course credit for their internship, these interns worked 10 hours per week for 11 weeks.

While at GNB, students participated in policy evaluation and development, general research, public engagement activities, communications, and other departmental activities. The objective of this opportunity was to advance the academic objectives of a senior-level political science course.

The departments included were:

  • Intergovernmental Affairs
  • Social Development
  • Finance and Treasury Board
  • Post-secondary Education Training and Labour
  • Environment and Local Government

Here, Future GNB intern Gabriel Marquez is seen attending a briefing with Premier Blaine Higgs and attending a virtual diplomatic meeting with US Ambassador and Consul General in early March 2022.

Gabriel is currently in his fourth year of a bachelor's degree in international relations. Currently, he is interning with Intergovernmental Affairs.

Future GNB wishes to thank all departments for their assistance in providing these students with this valuable experience.
