Migratory Bird Hunting Licences
Issuance of migratory bird hunting licences to residents and non-residents of NB.
Resident: Must be 14 years of age or older, must be a resident of New Brunswick as defined in the Fish and Wildlife Act and must not be restricted from purchasing a New Brunswick Hunting Licence and a federal Migratory Game Bird Hunting Permit which may be purchased at a Canada Post Office.
Non-Resident: Must be 14 years of age or older, must show proof of identity and must not be restricted from purchasing a New Brunswick Hunting Licence. Migratory bird hunters must hold a federal Migratory Game Bird Hunting Permit which may be purchased at a Canada Post Office.
Hunter Education Requirements:
Resident and Non-Resident Hunters born on or after January 1, 1981 and all first-time hunters must show proof of a Firearm Safety / Hunter Education Course. Hunters born previous to 1981 may present a previous hunting licence as proof of hunting experience.
Hunting licences provide hunting opportunities to New Brunswick hunters while managing populations for future use.
Migratory birds permitted: duck, geese, snipe and woodcock.
