FREDERICTON (GNB) – The following is a message from Premier Brian Gallant on the occasion of Remembrance Day, Saturday, Nov. 11. Gallant will participate in the Remembrance Day ceremony at Harbour Station in Saint John:

Every year on Nov. 11, New Brunswickers gather in community halls, public spaces and cenotaphs to pay tribute to those who have served our country by protecting us, our freedom and our rights. Remembrance Day provides communities with the opportunity to honour the sacrifices made by our veterans in pursuit of the values that make Canada the nation it is today.

This year we proudly celebrate the 150th anniversary of Confederation, the founding role of our province, and the many contributions made by New Brunswickers along the way. On Nov. 11, let us be reminded that none of this would have been possible without the sacrifice and courage of our veterans and members of the Canadian Armed Forces.

We hope you will join us at one of the many ceremonies around the province in observing a moment of silence for those who gave their lives in service to their country and to acknowledge the women and men in uniform who continue to serve today.

Lest we forget.
