FREDERICTON (GNB) – Voter Information Cards for the June 25 byelection in the provincial riding of Rothesay are expected to arrive by mail to residents in the riding beginning this week.

Nearly 9,500 cards with the locations and times of advance and regular polls are being sent out to eligible voters.

"If an elector does not receive a voter information card, this could mean that the individual is not on the voter's list or is not at his or her current address," said Michael Quinn, chief electoral officer. "Voters may have their names added to the voter's list or update their voter information by contacting the returning office in Rothesay. Voters who are not on the voter's list may also be added at the polls."

Quinn said that the voter information cards are not required to vote, but they will speed up the process if the voter brings it with him or her.

Voters looking for more information may call the Rothesay returning office, 1-888-708-7641 or 506-848-5410; or TTY, 1-888-718-0544. They may also visit the Elections NB website.
