Artist - Chelsea Landry

The New Brunswick Department of Tourism, Heritage and Culture invites professional artists to submit proposals to design, create and install public artwork at new government buildings or renovated buildings following the Public Art Policy for New Brunswick. This page provides an overview of past and current public art projects, as well as Calls to Artists to apply for future projects.

Once works are created and installed, they become part of collection ArtNB (formerly The New Brunswick Art Bank).

Public Art Artist Handbook

This is a resource for artists designed to be a helpful guide in undertaking public art projects. It is recommended for artists interested in applying for public art calls and for artists who are selected for projects, both in the province and beyond. It is meant for informational purposes.

Public Art Policy for New Brunswick

The Public Art Policy establishes funding levels and authorizes the acquisition, or commissioning, of artworks for provincially-owned and provincially-invested construction or development projects.

This policy promotes a sense of shared identity and pride of place among New Brunswickers while recognizing and supporting professional artists through establishment of a Public Art Policy. The policy establishes funding levels and authorizes acquisition, or commissioning, of artworks for provincially-owned and provincially-invested construction or development projects and broadly describes how the policy will be applied to major renovations of crown provincial assets and/or designated provincial heritage sites where a major building rehabilitation is being undertaken. The requirement of a permanent public art inclusion in these buildings will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
