Telephone Reassurance Program
Canadian Red Cross - Do you enjoy talking on the telephone? Or do you know someone who does? The Canadian Red Cross is currently searching for participants who would like to join our Telephone Reassurance Program. We match compassionate volunteers with socially or geographically isolated adults in New Brunswick. Volunteers phone clients to check in and provide social interaction on a regular basis, providing peace of mind for clients, family and caregivers. Charity BBQ - Alzheimer Society of NB is looking for volunteers for a Charity BBQ that we will be hosting at Johnson Field on the north side of Fredericton on August 27th from 10am to 6pm. The BBQ will be taking place during a softball tournament, with over 100 players expected to be in attendance. We are looking for people to work the BBQ and to take donations throughout the day. Soup”er Senior Wellness Fair - CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS - HorizonNB is hosting a “Soup”er Senior Wellness Fair at the HOPE Wellness Centre 4347 Loch Lomond Road on October 18th from 1:00-3:00 pm. They need about 10-12 volunteers to be on hand to help with serving soup stations, keeping track of clients who want a flu shot or blood sugar/ pressure testing and just to be on hand to direct vendors to their tables etc. It would also be nice to have someone on had that is a community “Food Mentor”.
