Why is getting immunized important?

Vaccines are safe and effective. By saying “yes,” you are helping to protect you or your child against diseases caused by certain viruses and bacteria. Immunization is one of the most powerful and cost-effective tools to prevent, control and manage vaccine preventable diseases.

How to get immunized?

Publicly funded vaccines are available to residents of New Brunswick based on the eligibility as outlined in the NB Routine Immunization Schedule. This schedule outlines the routine immunizations recommended for infants, children, adolescents and adults.

Parents of adolescents who are not enrolled in a public school in New Brunswick  may call their local Public Health office located within their regional health authority for further information.

Looking for your immunization records?

To obtain an NB immunization record, you need to contact the immunization provider as below:

  • If you received your immunizations from a doctor, contact him or her.

  • If you received your immunizations at a Public Health clinic, contact your local clinic. Immunizations administered in a Public Health clinic prior to 1991 may not be readily accessible.
