**Residents: You need to have a tag to complete the purchase online. See ‘Tag Information’ under Related Links.

Residents and Non-Residents of New Brunswick who wish to hunt moose must enter the appropriate annual draw.

Resident Moose Draw: Applicants must be residents of New Brunswick whose principal place of residence is New Brunswick, be the holder of a New Brunswick Outdoors Card and be at least 18 years of age at the time of application. They must not be restricted from purchasing a New Brunswick Hunting Licence.

Non-Resident Moose Draw: Applicants must be at least 18 years of age at the time of application and must not be restricted from purchasing a New Brunswick Hunting Licence.

Hunter Education Requirements:
• Resident and Non-Resident Hunters born on or after January 1, 1981 and all first-time hunters must show proof of a Firearm Safety / Hunter Education Course (gun hunters) or a stand-alone Bowhunter Education course (bow/crossbow hunters).
• Hunters born previous to 1981 may present a previous hunting licence as proof of hunting experience.
• Conservation Education certificates from other provinces, territories and states are valid in New Brunswick.

Quotas for resident moose hunting licences are determined on an annual basis for each Wildlife Management Zone. Resident draw applicants must choose their zone at the time of application. Non-resident hunters may choose their zone at the time of licence pick-up.

Information on the Resident and Non-Resident Moose Draws may be obtained at Department offices, Service New Brunswick centres, or on the department website (see Related Links).

Residents may also apply in person at Service New Brunswick centres.
