FREDERICTON (GNB) – Education and Early Childhood Development Minister Dominic Cardy issued the following message today in recognition of National Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week, Feb. 11-15:

National Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week is a time to celebrate the incredibly dedicated teachers, principals, vice-principals, early childhood educators, and public education staff who are helping guide our children and youth towards a better future.

Their passion for teaching is helping to create a world-class education system in New Brunswick.

I have had the opportunity to visit schools across our province, and I’ve seen first-hand the important work teachers and educational staff do for our children and youth.

The words that I’ve heard to describe our educators are innovative, supportive, committed, compassionate, creative, encouraging, enthusiastic, and engaging.

We are fortunate to have such outstanding teachers and staff who are helping to create life-long learners by instilling enthusiasm for learning.

I encourage New Brunswickers to express their appreciation for teachers and school staff, not just during National Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week, but every day.
