Nominations open for the Order of New Brunswick12 February 2018
FREDERICTON (GNB) – The government is encouraging New Brunswick residents to recognize individuals who have inspired others and demonstrated excellence by nominating them for the Order of New Brunswick.
The Order of New Brunswick was established in 2000 to honour and celebrate the achievements of New Brunswickers who have contributed to the economic, cultural and social fabric of the province. It is the highest honour awarded by the Province of New Brunswick.
The lieutenant-governor is chancellor of the order and invests each new member into the order at a ceremony held annually at Government House.
“New Brunswickers are known for being inclusive, innovative and inspiring,” said Lt.-Gov. Jocelyne Roy Vienneau. “We all know someone who makes our neighbourhood, our community and our province better. They are volunteers, donors and doers. People working for a better New Brunswick should be nominated for the Order of New Brunswick.”
The nomination deadline is April 15. Recipients will be announced on New Brunswick Day.
“Our government is proud to celebrate the achievements of outstanding New Brunswickers who have contributed to economic growth, strengthening education and improving health care,” said Premier Brian Gallant. “We encourage all New Brunswickers to nominate New Brunswickers who have inspired them, and who have made a positive impact on our province.”
More information on the order, biographical notes on members, and how to nominate an individual is available online.
