Ice storm relief campaign raises $73,15209 February 2017
FREDERICTON (GNB) – In response to January’s ice storm, NB Liquor partnered with the Canadian Red Cross to raise funds for the relief effort. The campaign raised $73,152.
“NB Liquor would like to thank everyone who donated to the ice storm relief in our corporate stores,” said Brian Harriman, president and CEO of NB Liquor. “The generosity and the continued support our customers have shown when called upon is truly remarkable. I also want to thank our store staff for all their dedicated efforts. They are the driving force behind asking our customers for a donation.”
From Jan. 31 to Feb. 4, the public was able to support the Canadian Red Cross relief fund by making a donation at any of the 44 corporate stores.
“Patrons of NB Liquor show tremendous generosity when called upon for disasters, and have done so yet again to help fellow New Brunswickers in a time of need,” said Bill Lawlor, provincial director of the Canadian Red Cross. “Power outages, lasting in some cases nearly two weeks in frigid weather, placed tremendous financial strain on many, especially those with limited resources to cope. We are deeply appreciative of these funds we can now use to help in the recovery.”
New Brunswickers looking to contribute financially can still so online or by calling toll-free at 1-800-418-1111.
