FREDERICTON (GNB) – The names of the mover and seconder for the speech from the throne were announced today by Government House Leader Hédard Albert.

Moncton East MLA Monique LeBlanc will move the acceptance of the throne speech during the opening of the second session of the 58th legislature on Tuesday, Dec. 1. The motion will be seconded by Carleton-Victoria MLA Andrew Harvey.

“As government house leader, I am pleased that Monique and Andrew will help us maintain momentum into our second legislative session as the mover and seconder of our speech from the throne,” said Albert. “Our government’s focus will be on making choices that will allow the province to have a sustainable budget into the future that allows us to afford the health, education and other social services that New Brunswickers expect and deserve, while creating the conditions for new jobs.”

LeBlanc was elected to the legislative assembly on Sept. 22, 2014. She owned and operated a sport medicine clinic and has taught at the Université de Moncton and the Atlantic College of Therapeutic Massage. She has been an active member of several local and provincial community and professional organizations, such as the New Brunswick College of Physiotherapists, Film Zone, the Société des Jeux de l’Acadie and represented the Moncton region on the board of Vitalité Health Network.

Harvey was elected to the legislative assembly on Sept. 22, 2014. He served as a municipal councillor with the Village of Bristol, and was a member of the Carleton Co-op board of directors. Harvey has many years of experience in both the private and public sectors.
