Career Exploration for Indigenous Youth

.

Are you an Indigenous youth who’s curious about your future?
Join us at one of our in-person events to explore your options from
in-demand career paths!

Career Exploration for Indigenous Youth (CEIY) events are designed to address the unique barriers faced by Indigenous youth in New Brunswick and to provide an opportunity to explore a variety of in-demand careers. Students will receive mentorship from Indigenous and non-Indigenous mentors who are working in a variety of in-demand sectors and are familiar with the unique barriers faced by Indigenous youth in New Brunswick.

The purpose of Career Exploration for Indigenous Youth events is to provide Indigenous high school students in New Brunswick with information on diverse career opportunities they may not have been aware of. For example, Indigenous people are significantly underrepresented in the skilled trades and technology fields in New Brunswick. These events create more intentional opportunities for Indigenous youth to learn from mentors while contributing toward efforts to create a more diverse and inclusive workforce in the province.

These events provide a relaxed and culturally safe environment for Indigenous youth to learn, gain knowledge, and ask career-related questions.
