To ensure the intrinsic values of New River Beach provincial park are protected for the benefit of present and future generations, a park management plan is being prepared that defines a vision and philosophy that will guide future management decisions affecting the park.

About New River Beach

Situated along the Bay of Fundy in Charlotte County.

Critical component of the “Stonehammer GeoPark” and natural formations of the bay from millions of years ago to present day.

The relatively young bay features rocks that are some of the oldest in the world. The beach itself is one of the nicest along the entire Bay of Fundy coast.

Total land area: approximately 364 hectares (900 acres)

Divided into three distinct areas: land along both sides of New River extending to the old Saint John Road, lands between Route #1, the old Route #1 highway, New River Beach Road and the Coastal Highway frontage between New River and Lepreau Harbour.

Efforts to-date

The Department of Tourism, Heritage and Culture has prepared the following Resource Management Statement for New River Beach Provincial Park. This statement will remain in effect until a Resource Management Plan has been formally adopted.
