The provincial government has contributed $77,500 to the New Brunswick Ground Search and Rescue Association to help with the organization's operational costs. Last year, volunteer ground search and rescue teams and their 367 members responded to 33 incidents. They contributed nearly 38,000 hours in prevention, training and search and rescue operations.
