Opportunities for greater harmonization to be discussed by premiers08 December 2017
FREDERICTON (GNB) – Premier Brian Gallant will meet with his regional counterparts in Halifax next week to discuss red tape reduction and the Atlantic Growth Strategy.
“Job creation is a priority that New Brunswickers share with all Atlantic Canadians,” said Gallant. “This is an opportunity for the Atlantic provinces to collaborate on growing the region’s economy.”
Gallant will be joined by Newfoundland and Labrador Premier Dwight Ball, Nova Scotia Premier Stephen McNeil and Prince Edward Island Premier Wade MacLauchlan during meetings of the Council of the Atlantic Premiers.
“We are looking forward to discussing how we can work together to develop our economy by reducing red tape faced by businesses, increasing the population, and strengthening our workforce,” said Gallant.
The premiers are also expected to discuss innovation, climate change, the federal government’s legalization of cannabis, and the importance of working in partnership with the federal government.
