General Information - Individual

The following documentation must be provided to the NB Apprenticeship and Certification Office:

• You must provide proof of work in New Brunswick with an employer who is willing to register you as an apprentice
• You must advise as to the duration of your employment in NB
• You must provide a copy of your apprenticeship ID card issued by the Province of Québec
• You must provide the completed Apprenticeship Agreement form  

NB Apprenticeship will issue you an Apprenticeship ID card for the duration of your work term in NB. This will be delivered to you on the job-site.

Journeypersons (for individuals who hold trade certification in the province of Québec)

• You must provide proof of work in New Brunswick
• You must provide a copy of your Québec certification
• You must complete and sign the Application for a Certificate of Qualification form
• You must provide payment of $150.00 by cheque or money order payable to the Minister of Finance
  

NB Apprenticeship and Certification will verify the information with the Province of Québec. Once validated, a NB Certificate of Qualification will be issued.

• Your Certificate of Qualification Wall document will be mailed to your home address
• Upon arriving in NB for work, you must visit the closest Apprenticeship office to obtain your photo identification card

• You must provide proof of work in New Brunswick
• You must complete and sign the Application for a Certificate of Qualification form 
• You must provide proof that you have the required number of years and have covered the required skills for the occupation by means of the Employer Confirmation Form
  
• You must pay a $100.00 Certificate of Qualification Challenger Assessment Fee. Once your application is approved to challenge the certification examination, a $250.00 fee must be paid to the Minister of Finance by cheque, money order, cash, or debit/credit card

Once all the information has been validated, Apprenticeship and Certification will schedule you to challenge the certification examination.
