Employee Specific Information

The following documentation must be provided to the NB Apprenticeship and Certification Office:

• You must provide proof of work in New Brunswick 
• You must advise as to the duration of your apprentice’s employment in NB
• You must provide a copy of your apprentice’s apprenticeship ID card issued by the Province of Québec
• You must complete the Contractor's Request Form
• You must have your apprentice complete the Apprenticeship Agreement form  

NB Apprenticeship will issue your apprentice a temporary apprenticeship ID card for the duration of the work term in NB. This will be delivered to your apprentice on the job-site.

For your journeypersons (for individuals who hold trade certification in the province of Québec)

• You must provide proof of work in New Brunswick
• You must provide a copy of your employee’s Québec certification
• You or your employee must complete the Application for a Certificate of Qualification form . The employee must sign the application
• You must complete the Contractor's Request Form 
• You or your employee must provide payment of $150.00 by cheque or money order payable to the Minister of Finance for each employee application submitted

NB Apprenticeship and Certification will verify the information with the Province of Québec. Once validated, a NB Certificate of Qualification will be issued to your employee.

• The Certificate of Qualification Wall document will be mailed to the home address of your employee
• Upon arriving in NB for work, your employee must visit the closest apprenticeship office to obtain the photo identification card

• You must provide proof of work in New Brunswick
• You or your employee must complete the Application for a Certificate of Qualification form. The employee must sign the application form 
• You must provide proof that your employee has the required number of hours and has covered the required skills for the occupation by means of an Employer Confirmation Form, which can be requested by calling 1-855-453-2260
• You must complete the Contractor's Request Form
• You or your employee must pay a $100.00 Certificate of Qualification Challenger Assessment Fee. Once your application is approved to challenge the certification examination, a $250.00 fee must be paid to the Minister of Finance by cheque, money order, cash, or debit/credit card

Once all the information has been validated, Apprenticeship and Certification will schedule your employee to challenge the certification examination.
