Home Library Service - Public Libraries
The Home Library Service offers a library lending service to patrons who are unable to visit a public library. A friend, family member or volunteer picks up and returns library materials for the patron.
The service is free and is available to New Brunswick public library cardholders who are unable to visit a public library but know a family member, friend or volunteer who can pick up and return their library materials for them.
The Home Library Service offers a library lending service to people who are unable to visit a library due to a disability or illness. A family member, friend or volunteer picks up materials that are selected by either the volunteer or by library staff for the patron.
Home library service patrons can borrow a maximum of 50 items at a time with a loan period of six weeks, with one renewal. When the loan period has expired, the volunteer who checked out the items returns them to their local public library. Home library service patrons are not subject to overdue fines, but will be charged replacement costs if materials are not returned.
