Class II Protected Natural Areas protect good examples of the province's natural ecosystems and landscapes. Low impact recreational activities and traditional food gathering activities are permitted. Industrial, commercial, agricultural uses and development are not permitted. These sites provide an opportunity to study the natural environment as well as the recovery of modified ecosystems. Educational and scientific activities require a permit.
