Patapedia has many features common to most known skarn/porphyry copper type deposits including a large silicate alteration halo, sporadic copper and zinc rich skarns, polymetallic Pb-Zn-Ag-Au and arsenopyrite-Au type mineralization, intrusive breccias, and a large discrete felsic intrusive defined by a regional aeromagnetic survey.
The Patapedia property is located on the Grand Pabos-Restigouche Fault system which hosts numerous base and precious metal occurrences. A nearby sub massive pyrrhotite- chalcopyrite- Ag deposit (mid-Patapedia, Quebec side of Patapedia River) is located along the same fault system and has a resource of 3.6 million tons grading 0.25% Cu and 5.0 g/T Ag, with grab samples from veins assaying up to 1.4 oz/t Au.
Excellent exploration potential for Cu-Ag-Au deposits related to major structures (Lower Downs Gulch Fault, part of the Grand Pabos-Restigouche Fault system) which transects the large, mineralized, discrete Patapedia felsic intrusive area.
