Copper skarns are particularly common in orogenic zones related to subduction -oceanic and continental settings such as the Popelogan-Victoria arc from the Ordovician through to the closure of the lapetus ocean in the Devonian. The continental margin related subduction which is most suitable for porphyry/skarn mineralization was concurrent with formation of the Popelogan-Victoria arc (report of work 478536, Rio Tinto Exploration).  A field visit by RTX generative team confirmed the presence of mineralization and initiated study of a conceptual porphyry target at depth (report of work 478541, Rio Tinto Exploration).
