TRACADIE (GNB) – The provincial government is investing $3.5 million in Polyvalente W.-A.-Losier in Tracadie.

“Our 10-year education plans are designed to give our students a desire for lifelong learning so that they become engaged individuals who contribute to our economy and our society,” said Education and Early Childhood Development Minister Brian Kenny. “To accomplish this, we must give them the best infrastructure and environment possible.”

The project involves renovating the school to accommodate the school district offices and making necessary repairs and renovations to add 30 years to the building’s life. The school was built in 1969 and currently serves 828 students.

“Our government listened to New Brunswickers, and we understand that education is a priority for them,” said Environment and Local Government Minister Serge Rousselle. “That is why, through these investments in our schools, we are continuing to keep our commitment to invest in our education system to make it a superior-quality system for our students.”

Rousselle spoke on behalf of Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Bill Fraser.

About $88 million will be invested in New Brunswick schools in 2017-18.
