Learn about supports and resources available for workers impacted by tariffs.
Support is available for both New Brunswick businesses and workers affected by the tariffs imposed by the United States. We continue to work closely with federal partners to offer financial, workforce, and business support programs for all workers impacted by tariffs.
In New Brunswick, Employment Counselling and Workforce Support Services are available for both employers and workers.
New Brunswick is breaking down interprovincial trade barriers and we are tackling labour mobility head on. New Brunswick will take the lead in recognizing certified professionals coming from every province and territory in Canada. We’re working to ensure that all 52 regulated occupations, including healthcare workers, teachers, tradespeople, and every professional on the list can get to work faster here in New Brunswick.
A flexible labour market support program will be delivered by the Department of Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour through WorkingNB.
They will provide support and services to workers whose jobs have been affected by the tariffs. A contingency fund will also be available through the Regional Development Corporation to provide support for impacted communities. Workers who are impacted by the tariffs and are seeking support should contact their local WorkingNB office.
The Workplace Connections (WPC) program helps provide individuals with workplace opportunities to address employment barriers or acquire experience and skills required for an occupation.
