Register to learn

Register for our educational courses and individual sessions.

Types of services

There are three types of services for which you can register:

Language classes

If you are new to our services, we recommend that you enroll in a class so that you can have supports as you start learning in our learning environment. Classes are offered at all proficiency levels. Register early to reserve your spot. Registration happens 4 times per year for intake into classes.

Individual sessions: Independent learning (one-on-one with Linguistic Coach)

Individual sessions are only available for learners registered in levels B1 up to C1 who have already attended sessions with Language Services. Learners should already be familiar with the platform and how it works.

Some tasks, such as the debate, will take place during office hours in the evening to facilitate the participation of several members rather than a one-to-one debate.

Independent learning (one-on-one with Linguistic Coach)

Social and cultural activities

Café linguistique discussion group

Offered on a by-weekly rotation as an add-on to classes and individual sessions. “Office hours” will be for individuals seeking support to complete their work and for group tasks such as debates, and individuals will be invited to participate in guided group discussion during “Café linguistique”.

Individuals who wish to work independently without coaching are welcome.

Painting classes

Monday (Feb. 12, March 18, April 15, May 13), individuals will learn painting techniques to complete a painting per evening while being immersed in a French environment through informal discussions.

Miscellaneous Mondays

Every last Monday of the month, Services linguistiques offers a variety of learning games for different levels: Bingo for A1+ (Feb. 26), Trivia for B1+ (March 25), Murder Mystery for B2+ (April 22), Storytelling for B1+ (May 27). We will also host a special cooking class (A2+) on April 29.

Book Club

Book Club is the first Monday of the month (Feb. 5, March 11, April 8, May 6). Typically, we will spend 45 minutes talking about the short text assigned to read at home, and the last 45 minutes will be spent preparing for the next reading assignment through discussions and games.

Eligibility

Services linguistiques offers French language/cultural services to educators in the anglophone sector in New Brunswick. Priority placement is given to teachers of French Second/Additional Language, supply teachers and pre-service teachers of French. Additional available spots are made available to any employee in our sector on a first come first served basis.
