Sexually Transmitted and Blood Borne

Overview

A sexually transmited infection (STI) is an infection that can be transmitted from one person to another through sexual contact (wht vehicle may be the exchange of semen, vaginal fluid, blood or other body fluids). A blood borne infection is transmitted through contact with infected blood. The Canadian Guidelines on Sexually Tranmsitted Infections are a resource for information on the prevenion, diagnosis, treatment and management of STIs across diverse patient populations.
