New Brunswick is hiring Large Animal Veterinarians

A rich agricultural industry and a diversity of farms has New Brunswick on the map as an ideal place to put down roots and do what you love. The provincial veterinary service is a valued, government-operated, public service provided to farms across the province. As a large animal vet in New Brunswick, you will have variety in the type of work you are doing and the unique clients you support.

COMPETITIVE SALARY AND OUR WORKING ENVIRONMENT

For new large animal veterinary graduates or other veterinary professionals, a competitive salary comparable to the private sector is now offered. In addition to competitive compensation, we also offer a pension plan, health and dental benefits, a vehicle with a mobile veterinary unit, a cell phone, work clothes, footwear, free laundry service, minimum three weeks vacation, stand-by pay and paid overtime. We are continuously adapting to create efficiencies and improvements to ensure our employees experience a world-class work environment.

MENTORSHIP

Our new hires will be mentored by and work alongside some of the best veterinarians in Canada.

VACATION AND WORK LIFE BALANCE

We get it. Life beyond the farm and clinic is important. With three weeks of paid vacation, paid overtime and new standards of practice for afterhours protocols, our goal is to ensure you have time to live and love what you do.

TOOLS, TECHNOLOGY AND OPERATIONS

In the field and clinic, you will work with some of the newest technology to support animal health. The provincial veterinary laboratory in Fredericton provides lab services to help you monitor animal health, and our pharmacies, under the direction of our veterinarians, distribute medication to farms across the province. Regionally, our mobile veterinary units allow you to travel to farms to provide veterinary services on-site, and your regional clinic provides you with the day-to-day support you need!

TUITION AND CONTINUED EDUCATION

For new graduates, we cover one year of your tuition.* We believe strongly in continued education and professional development. The barn door is always open to bringing in new expertise and innovations.

*The equivalent amount of one-year tuition at the Atlantic Veterinary College
